<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Overview</h4>

<p>This notification type can be used for sending email alerts whenever a quantity, weight, etc, of an inventory, rises above a defined limit.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Setting up the notification</h4>

<p>To set it up, go to the&nbsp;<a href="https://ai.ventipix.com/app/account/inventory">Manage Inventory</a>&nbsp;table &gt; <strong>Options </strong>&gt; <strong>Notifications</strong>. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="241" height="372" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-108.png" alt="" class="wp-image-2096" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-108.png 241w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-108-194x300.png 194w" sizes="(max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px" /></figure>

<p>On the Notifications page, under the&nbsp;<strong>Actions</strong>&nbsp;menu, choose&nbsp;<strong>Email Notifications</strong>, then&nbsp;<strong>For Inventories</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="399" height="336" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-233.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3183" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-233.png 399w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-233-300x253.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px" /></figure>

<p>In the popup modal, choose the <strong>Overstock </strong>option, then click the <strong>Continue</strong> button.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="554" height="63" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-3.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3220" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-3.png 554w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-3-300x34.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 554px) 100vw, 554px" /></figure>

<p>On the new page, choose who should receive the email notifications.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="89" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-95-1024x89.png" alt="" class="wp-image-307" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-95-1024x89.png 1024w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-95-300x26.png 300w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-95-768x67.png 768w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-95.png 1077w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>You can choose your team members.</li>

<li>You can enter the email addresses, under the “<em>The following email addresses</em>” section, if the recipients are the same for all the inventories.</li>

<li>If the recipients are different for specific inventories, then you need to have their emails recorded on the inventory’s record. To do so, you need a&nbsp;<a href="https://kb.ventipix.com/knowledge-base/how-to-customize/">Data Capture</a>&nbsp;field with the&nbsp;<a href="https://kb.ventipix.com/knowledge-base/answer-types/">Answer Type</a>&nbsp;set to either “Email”, “Select” or “Hidden”. For “Select” or “Hidden” Answer Types, specify the email address in the Options section of the Data Capture settings. “Hidden” Answer Type, can only have one email address, whereas “Select” can have multiple emails defined, but only one will be chosen when filling out the forms.</li>
</ul>

<p>Choose the data capture field where the quantity limits are recorded.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="94" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-2-1024x94.png" alt="" class="wp-image-2826" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-2-1024x94.png 1024w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-2-300x28.png 300w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-2-768x71.png 768w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-2.png 1111w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Choose the condition that should trigger the alert. For example, when the quantity is more than the threshold.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="92" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1-1024x92.png" alt="" class="wp-image-2821" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1-1024x92.png 1024w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1-300x27.png 300w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1-768x69.png 768w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1-1536x138.png 1536w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1-1568x141.png 1568w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/image-1.png 1584w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p></p>

<p></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><em>More Than</em> condition means &#8211; a notification will be sent each time the <em>Quantity</em> exceeds the <em>Threshold.</em></li>

<li><em>More Than Once</em> condition means &#8211; a notification will be sent, only once when the <em>Quantity</em> is more than the <em>Threshold</em>.</li>

<li><em>Equal To</em> condition means &#8211; a notification will be sent each time the <em>Quantity</em> is equal to the <em>Threshold</em>.</li>
</ul>

<p>Choose the data capture field where the current quantity levels are recorded.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="89" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-119-1024x89.png" alt="" class="wp-image-354" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-119-1024x89.png 1024w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-119-300x26.png 300w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-119-768x67.png 768w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-119.png 1077w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Compose the message. Use the placeholders if necessary.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="270" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-109-1024x270.png" alt="" class="wp-image-2098" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-109-1024x270.png 1024w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-109-300x79.png 300w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-109-768x202.png 768w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-109-1536x405.png 1536w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/image-109.png 1564w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>If the recipients of the emails are also users of the app, you can have the app create&nbsp;<a href="https://kb.ventipix.com/knowledge-base/to-do-lists/">to-do tasks</a>&nbsp;automatically whenever the emails are issued.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="809" height="115" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-234.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3184" srcset="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-234.png 809w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-234-300x43.png 300w, https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/image-234-768x109.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 809px) 100vw, 809px" /></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Modifying the notification</h4>

<p>From the Notifications page, go to the&nbsp;<strong>Notifications</strong>&nbsp;table.</p>

<p>Find the notification you want to modify.</p>

<p>Under the&nbsp;<strong>Actions</strong>&nbsp;column, go to&nbsp;<strong>Edit</strong>.</p>

<p>To pause the notification, change its status to<strong>&nbsp;Inactive</strong>.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Push Notifications</h4>

<p>If you have enabled <a href="https://kb.ventipix.com/knowledge-base/push-notifications/">Push Notifications</a>, you can receive alerts on the desktop or mobile devices simply by setting up a conditional alert that compares, for example, a <strong>Quantity</strong> field and a <strong>Re-order</strong> field.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/image-2-1024x42.png" alt=""/></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Webhooks</h4>

<p>If you have set up <a href="https://kb.ventipix.com/knowledge-base/webhook-notifications/">webhooks</a>, just like with Push notifications, you can be notified when one field you are comparing is greater than another.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://kb.ventipix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/image-5-1024x49.png" alt=""/></figure>

<p>As with this notification type, the data is sent to your server, you can then have the server do other things such as notify other platforms, place orders, etc.</p>
